Magtec P160/P161 motor gearbox and power controller combination are designed for front wheel drive vehicles with GVW from 1.5t to 3.5t with drive powers up to 90kW. The vehicle performance will typically meet the original vehicle performance specification including maximum speed and grade capability.

The P160 controller can be provided with all the necessary vehicle interfaces including:
    Battery system control interfaces, contactors and pre-charge Vehicle control interfaces DCDC converters for charging the vehicle 24v electric systems Controlled HVDC output for cabin heating etc.

The range will depend upon the battery systems chosen by the customers but will typically be around 100 miles.


Magtec P144/P146 motor gearbox and power controller combination are suitable for rear wheel vehicles up to 14t GVW. With an output power of 150kW this drive system is capable of matching the base vehicle speed and grade capability in most applications.

The Magtec P162 motor with its higher torque and single stage epicylic gearbox is capable of driving heavier vehicles up to 26t GVW and above.


Due to their inherent efficiency and by optimizing energy recovered by regenerative braking, Magtec drive systems can provide significant increases in range for a given battery size over other drive system solutions. For a fixed range requirement this can mean a significantly smaller battery with the associated cost and weight savings.

The P146 controller includes all the features of the P160 but also includes auxiliary inverters to run electrically driven hydraulic pumps for PAS and electrically driven air compressor for the vehicle braking system.


The Magtec P171/P178 motor and power controller provide a compact and power dense solution for high performance vehicles.
The P171 motor is capable of delivering 550Nm of torque and 240kW output power up to 14,000rpm.


Magtec provide completed EV drive systems for buses up to 18t GVW including traction, battery and charging systems as required. Magtec powered EV buses are running through Europe. Due to the high efficiency and low weight of the Magtec drive systems buses powered using our systems have greater range, lower un-laden weight and use fewer batteries than competing systems.
